Urban and metropolitan territories are constantly growing and developing, creating centralities (main and secondary), and peripheral areas with weak connections to the center. On the other hand, the densification of central areas generates impacts on the growth of territories that need to be studied to understand the role of new centralities in the hierarchization of urban and metropolitan areas.
